How many artists will be there?
The list of participants is fluid. I'll do my best to accommodate everyone who says they would like to join. This is an open call, so please tell your fellow potters at the studio.
How will the event be marketed?
This event is powered by word of mouth, social media, e-mail lists, FB groups and by "u" in community.
Is there a fee to participate?
The studio will reserve 18% of all sales. There is no upfront fee to participate.
How many pieces can I bring?
There's no strict limit, but a suggested guideline is more of smaller pieces, less of larger works and not more than 20 all together. Bring what you love, what you want to share and what you would like feedback on.
Also, please bring a piece for the “Secret Potter” trade. Everyone who brings one gets to participate. You can wrap it at the studio.
What is the "Secret Potter?"
Like Secret Santa, a game of trade and surprise. Each participant brings one wrapped piece of work to contribute to the game. Everyone who brings a piece will leave with a different piece from a "Secret Potter." This event will happen at the opening on Thursday night.
When should I bring my work over?
Please plan to bring your work no later than Sunday, May 24. This gives me plenty of time to setup the floor and merchandise the work on displays.
How will my work be displayed?
Work will be in tables, shelves, possibly hung on the wall and even outside when appropriate.
What is the price point for selling work?
That is up to each artist. There are no minimums and the sky's the limit. If you want pieces to move, I suggest items at $20-$25, then $50, then $100+.
How will funds be collected and dispersed?
Wrapture Studio will collect funds via Venmo, Zelle and Cash. Artist's will be paid out less 18% when they pick up their work.
I'd like to give an Artist Talk, what do I need to prepare?
The Artist's Talks are short ( under 15 min) personal stories about your work and practice. Feel free to write notes, but think of this as in informal moment to share spontaneously about whaever comes to mind in the moment.
I'd like to sell my work, but am not available those days.
No problem. You can drop off pieces and still be part of the sale.
Do I have to be there?
No. You are welcome to spend as much, or as little, time in the studio as you would like. I will be on-site all four days.
What about bags and wrapping paper?
Shopping bags and newsprint for wrapping items will be provided. There is also gift boxes and wrapping paper for an additional fee.
I'm new to the studio and am just learning.
If you made a thing, you are welcome to come sell a thing. This is about community and sharing.
Where do I park?
There is one hour parking immediately out-front. and street parking throughout the neighborhood. It gets tight, so plan ahead.
I'd like to join, how do I sign-up?
The best way to connect is to message me on Instagram @thewraptureisnow.
